Sledging & snowshoeing
Winter in the Zillertal. Peaceful walks, stunning views.
more nature
There’s plenty to do in the Zillertal in winter, even away from the slopes. Whether you’re tobogganing, snowshoeing or enjoying a romantic horse-drawn carriage ride, you’ll experience the snow-covered mountains from their peaceful, cosy and, at the same time, truly varied side.
Tobogganing
Fun for the whole family
Whether in sunshine or under a starry sky, tobogganing is simply part of winter in the Zillertal. At Spieljoch, a 5.5 km-long, snow-covered toboggan run awaits, stretching from the top station to the middle station – easily accessible via the 10-seater gondola lift.
Very close to our hotel is also the toboggan run at the Goglhof: a roughly 3 km long, floodlit and perfectly groomed natural toboggan run with toboggan hire and a transfer to the start. You can get your tickets directly at the bar in the Goglhof.
Snowshoeing
A pure winter experience
At Spieljoch, too, winter hiking trails lead straight from the mountain station into the snow-covered mountains. Guided snowshoe tours for beginners are available in the region; depending on the provider, these include hire equipment, a guide and tours lasting around 3 to 5 hours. Sturdy footwear, warm winter clothing and a reasonable level of fitness are all you need.
Horse-drawn carriage rides
simply tranquil
Wrapped up warm, with the snow-covered landscape before your eyes and the gentle snorting of the horses in your ears: on a horse-drawn sleigh ride, you can experience the cosy side of the Zillertal. Far from the hustle and bustle, you’ll glide through the winter wonderland in complete relaxation – a traditional, romantic and wonderfully unhurried experience. We’d be happy to help you book a ride in Fügen.
